Encounter-specific Details, Actions and Tactics

In this encounter, the enemies are forced to follow a very rigid routine, and the party may be able to use Ready and Delay to trivialize the encounter. This is intended; if they manage to "outthink" the constructs' "programming", they will have an incredibly easy time in this room.


Room Description/Flavor Text

This next cavern appears mostly empty, occasional piles of rubble and pools of water dotting the area. The way forward is visible - a passageway flanked by two statues lies to your right.

If the party attempts to move past:
As you attempt to move past the statues, they grind and shudder to life, trying to shove you back from the passageway! (Character in the lead has the Bar Passage reaction taken against them, then enter initiative).

If they attempt to investigate the statues:
It seems like these statues have been placed intentionally... watching for a moment you see a beetle scurrying past, and the statue's leg suddenly animates, stomping into the ground where the beetle once was and creating a cloud of dust. When the dust clears, the statue is in the exact same position it once was. Perfectly still.
